Riedel | Sommeliers - Grappa | 110 ml | Crystal | Clear | 1 pc
Grappa is an Italian grape-based pomace brandy made from the grape skins and stems discarded during winemaking. It contains 35-60% alcohol by volume and is recognised as a distinct alcoholic beverage since 2008 by the European Union. After meals, it is traditionally served neat in shot glasses, while connoisseurs prefer taller stemmed stemmed-nosing glasses. There are various types of grappa; Bianca/Giovane, Affinata in Legno, Vecchia/Invecchiata, and Riserva/Stravecchia, each aged for different periods of time.
Riedels Sommeliers was the worlds first wine-friendly glass collection and a radical innovation by Claus J. Riedel (9th generation). Adhering to the Bauhaus design principle of form follows function, Riedels research showed that certain wines tasted better from specific glass shapes. Sommeliers featured thin-blown and unadorned glasses and marking the start of RIEDELs popularity in the global wine glass market.
